Doing the rounds this morning I came across this freshly turned snow catching the sun. It somehow reminds me of my youth spent building snow forts and throwing snowballs. Back in the days when kids went out at sunrise and came home at sunset, and parents had no cause to worry in between.
Back in the days when shovelling snow was fun, not back-breaking labour. When we would shovel the whole street for the neighbourhood, not wait for a kind hearted passing stranger with a snowblower. When we spent whole days outside wearing T-shirt and jeans and did not feel the cold.
The energy of youth. I miss that. This photo reminds me, I was young once. Still am. At heart.
