The Image Of The Week this week comes from the Bird Kingdom in Niagara Falls. Though I’m not a fan of animals kept in captivity, this location offers three full floors of free flight to the residents, so they can swoop and fly almost as much as they would outside while staying warm and well fed.
This particular bird is a Boat-Billed Heron (Cochlearius Cochlearius), and these are members of the Ardeidae family. Apparently. Image was taken with a Sigma 100-400 DG, at 1/125th F8 ISO5000 for those that wonder.
