Swooping low and silently over the landscape looking for food, owls can be counted among the most ferocious birds of prey. Small and light, their cute looks and affectionately held place in popular myth bely their terrifying real-life abilities.
Like all raptors, they are natural-born killers. Predators of the first order. Imagine if you will that you were the size of a mouse. An owl would appear to be around the size of a fire truck. With fire fighter jaws-of-life style razor sharp beak and talons to match. Not that you would see them until the silent talons pierced flesh and met in the middle as the beak came down.
