The Big Goose is a famous landmark known to anyone that has travelled the Trans-Canada highway as it passes Wawa, Ontario. This more recent steel and concrete incarnation was photographed at sunset as we stopped for a break on our way West. The silhouette and the sun highlighting the statue is evocative of the spirit of adventure as this landmark stands tireless watch over weary travellers.
This Big Goose has stood sentry since the original Big Goose was moved to moved to main street. So, less well known fact, there are actually two Big Geese in Wawa.
But this one is available as prints and other items at the link.
