Leaving the house one day, I discovered this ferocious feline just sitting on the grass in front of our Red Maple. It completely ignored me as I hunkered down to take this image and continued scanning the area for tasty morsels to eat. With the imperious certainty that he could outpace me without breaking stride, I was simply not on his radar. This wildcat does not belong to any neighbour. It has no collar. It is wild. Not feral, since I still have a face. But wild.
Wild cats are quite common in urban environments, but they are usually a little skittish around humans. Not so, this one. I left before he did.
