Canal Days is an annual tradition in Port Colborne. For over forty years this annual festival has drawn visitors from far and wide to our sleepy little town. Proceedings are usually kick-started by the arrival of one of the centrepieces of the event, the Empire Sandy tall ship, coming through the Welland Canal.
On arrival, she fires her cannon, a sign that the fun is about to begin. It can be heard throughout the city. It’s a big boom. When that cannon fires, everybody knows it.
