Cobwebs

I am fascinated by complexity and detail. I love to follow threads and discover patterns. To see the bigger picture in what seems to others as chaos. To make sense of the nonsense. Perhaps that is why I am so attracted to cobwebs. Like snowflakes, no two are exactly the same. Infinite in variety, yet both with a structure which defines the limits of their shapes. This is why even a child can draw a snowflake with crayons. But nobody can predict how the next will look. It’s the same with cobwebs.

Earlier this summer as I drove by a field my eye was caught by not one but several cobwebs. I slowed. I stopped. I got out of the car to look closer. And discovered thousands of dew-covered cobwebs. As far as my eye could see. So I broke out the drone. Because I was not about to cross that spider infested field. This is what drones were invented for.

I have watched this video many times. it captivates me. Mesmerizes. Hypnotizes. Every time, I try to count those cobwebs. And every time, I fail. They are, literally, countless. Enjoy the 4K video.
