Between weddings and safari outings and taking care of other business, I haven’t had much time to get out and explore in the last couple of weeks. So when this image from a couple of years ago popped up on my socials it seemed a good time to give it the love I think it deserves. Our Image Of The Week comes from a 2020 hike around the lake at the St. John’s Conservation Area in Fonthill, Ontario.
These two turtles were sunning themselves, peacefully out of reach and without an apparent care in the world as I watched from the bank. Kids and their parents were enjoying the day, fishing, running, playing. We hiked the ridge and saw the sun burn morning dew from the trees, before coming back down to the lake and watching dragonflies dance across the water’s surface. Then we saw these two turtles.
It was a good day. A very good day.
