Cloud Services

Apparently there is a local Internet outage here. Executing Plan B. Web sites updated. Images delivered. Emails answered. Business as usual.

This happenstance makes me revisit the plan for self-hosting cloud services. Such a thing would let me and others access files, and sync folders, automatically across multiple devices – even during Internet outages. Save something on my phone, it’s on my comp and laptop when I open them. No fiddly exporting, importing, copying and moving files. Same the other way. Anywhere, any time.

Phone photos go right to desktop. Meeting minutes, contracts, important docs, instantly backed up. Everywhere. Desktop research on flights and hotels saved to phone and laptop, ready to go. Also synced calendars. Email. File sharing with teams and clients. And much more.

Is it overkill? Yes. I want it. Do I need it, that’s the question. Can I be bothered for my little home setup? Maybe. It would resolve some pain points. Just needs setting up. Which is simple enough. And I can drop the hassle and expense and security implications of Google Drive, iCloud, Amazon, OneDrive and Adobe. Can I do it for your business, too? Definitely. Get in touch.

Secure and private Cloud-hosting, and more. From GYST Services.
