Riverside Sun

Recently, the urge took me to see sunrise at the Fort Erie Peace Bridge. When I arrived the cloud cover was too thick, the sun was clearly not about to make an appearance. So I drove up the Niagara parkway toward the International Railway Bridge, a little further North. By the time I arrived the cloud cover had thinned enough to make sun photos actually feasible.

Parking in the adjacent lot I quickly exited the vehicle, and immediately threw up the drone to get video as the sun rose along the bridge. Just in time. The sun chose that exact moment to explode into view. It was a glorious sight indeed. From the perspective of the drone, even better. Watch the video. Within five minutes the sun had risen too far to align with the bridge. The moment had passed.

I brought the drone back to my favourite landing spot, my car. Which is less dusty, dirty, or muddy than the ground. Also, no people walking on it. It’s just a great spot to land. The action cam had been recording from the car roof, for some behind the scenes footage. Placing the drone beside the action cam I grabbed my DSLR to get this shot of the dream team – my car, my drone, my action cam – all of us watching the day begin. The video below shows the full behind the scenes video. At the end is a link to the final promo, containing video not seen in the BTS. 🙂

It was now 6:30am. The whole day still ahead. What a way to begin the day.
