Snow Day

Snow Day 2025

Here in Port Colborne, Ontario, we have a winter storm in progress. In Canada, that means snow. Ice. Freezing rain. All at the same time. What better time to go exploring?

After cracking open the frozen doors it toook me twenty minutes to chip the ice off the car windows this morning, even with the engine running and the heaters on full. It’s Sunday, so most choose to stay home in these conditions. Not me. With half the city unable to move and the other half hunkering down to wait out the storm, I had the roads practically to myself. Perfect. This meant no vehicular distractions, no people around, and the chance to take some unique photographs of places magically transformed. We have winter postcard conditions.

I took the photos in this gallery on my outing today. Seize the day. I was out for two hours. Much of it spent sitting listening to the snow fall. I am not one to watch life through a window. Nothing is to be gained by worrying about things you have no control over, like the weather. The world continues to turn, whether you stay in or go out. But if you stay in you might miss smething wonderful.

Seize the day. Go out in the snow. And see it.
