Some trails are off limits. They may cross private land or be otherwise closed to traffic on foot or wheels. Sign says go no further, you go no further. These trails sit enticingly beyond reach, beckoning the curious toward new discoveries. But to stay on the right side of the law and ensure continued good health (land owners in Canada hunt and carry guns), I choose to be a good boy and stay on the right side of the line. Most of the time. That doesn’t mean I can’t quickly send up the drone to take a look. And a photograph.
This early spring image was taken not long after sunrise on a bitter cold morning. Snow flakes danced as I, staying ensconced snugly in the toasty warm car, sent the drone straight up and back down. A little juggling to get the composition how I wanted it, some tweaks to the camera settings to suit the time of day and light. Click.
The texture details in this image fascinate me. The intricacy of the branches. The muted winter colours showing that Spring has not yet taken hold. The contrasting white and grey branches. I really like this image. Side note, I think it would make a very challenging jigsaw. Let me know in the comments if you think so too. If enough people want one, I shall make one.
