This weekend is the first weekend of Spring. Warmer weather is on the horizon. Soon, Canadians will be complaining of heat, flies, noisy air conditioning and even noisier crickets keeping them awake at night. How soon we forget that only weeks ago this very view across the harbour of Port Colborne, Ontrario, was a frozen, inhospitable hellscape.
Such is the human condition. We are rarely happy with our lot. But we should be. Let’s all be like this boat owner, and head out seeking new adventures. Take whatever the future holds. Face it head on with a smile. Run to it and see what there is to see. Maybe even catch a fish. The point? The future will happen anyway. You may as well embrace it. I’m looking forward. Onward.
