Sports are notoriously difficult to photographs. People move so fast. Vehicles, at least, usually go fast in a straight line. Birds? Birds do not. They go fast. But not in a straight line. They swoop and dive, correct for wind, change direction in a heartbeat. It is instinctive, their movements come as naturally to them as breathing the air through which they fly. Birds are a challenge. Which is why I am so happy with this image of a hawk captured during an outing some time ago now.
Every so often you are in the right place at the right time with the right gear and looking in the right direction. This. This was one of those times.
