Sunrise anywhere along the Niagara river is amazing, with the early light of dawn reflecting on the water. When the rising sun aligns with the International Rail Bridge at Fort Erie, it makes for some amazing images. This is one of several taken this morning. An early start saw my wife and I in the car heading for the Peace Bridge. When we arrived it did not seem promising, so being the driver I made the executive decision to explore further. I am so glad that I did.
The video from the drone of that light over that bridge blew me away. So much so that my intent as I type is to return tomorrow to get the shots I didn’t think of in the moment, or have time to. The sun moves quickly. I am inspired. I have ideas. Let’s see if I feel the same at 4:30am tomorrow. If I look out of the window and conditions seem favourable, I could be driving the 30+ kilometre trip again.
That fishing boat sped through several shots. Rather than being a distraction it provides an additional storytelling element, poses questions, and gives focus to the images making them even more compelling. I love sunrise.
