First time visitors to Niagara Falls often overlook the fact that the famous mist coming from the falls rises far above the retaining wall, and can fall almost like rain. Children often pay more attention to splashing through the puddles than they do looking at the falls. Which drives parents crazy, and which makes me smile.
This is something to bear in mind when packing for the trip, if you plan on getting up close. It can be cold, even in Summer. That summer dress might stick to you like a second skin, as if you just stepped out of the shower. Suede is a poor choice. Appropriate footwear is the order of the day. And maybe, even a light raincoat.
