At the recent Motorycle Swap Meet in Ridgeway I spoke with one of the Show & Shine winners and wanted to focus on his particular motorbike.
This is a limited edition 2009 CVO Springer ‘Screaming Eagle’ in Black Diamond with an Emerald Ice flame finish. Only 995 units were produced for the North American market in 2009. The CVO model was assembled on a separate production line by two dedicated engineers, each selected because of their more than ten years of Harley Davidson assembly experience. These two engineers put their hand-written signature on each and every CVO Springer that came off their line. A nice touch.
The owner, himself named Harley (for real), was at the show with his wife and two children. They declined to be in photographs, mainly because it was raining. Not Harley though. He sits proudly across this bike just after winning the Best In Show award. And rightly so. This bike is well-presented. Not a speck of rust. No dirt or dust. Immaculate. And it looks great. This was the last CVO year before production moved to the main line. 2009 models have more chrome and the best paint jobs, paired with the most powerful engines of the line. He showed and it shined. I know. Shone. Poetic license.
