No, and I do mean no, event ever goes fully to plan. You always have to roll with it. The flowers didn’t arrive. Caterers dropped the cake. The best man just gave the groom a black eye. The bride is late. Or fell in a fountain. Stuff happens. And, for me, as an event photographer, that’s really the best part of any event.
Being able to pivot on a dime and still make things look good is a challenge welcomed. It’s always a buzz when an obstacle is overcome. Interesting factlet: For our last event we allowed plenty of time for travel, over an hour. We were delayed in our departure, so went to Plan B. Plan B was a faster route. Until a train blocked that route as it shunted backwards and forwards. Honestly, a train blocked the road, holding us up for 20 minutes. Who plans for that? Me. We arrived in good time and I was clicking camera buttons on time with a smile as though nothing happened. All good.
From the Bursary of Hope gala auction on Friday October 24, 2025. A corporate charity event for which I was pleased, again, to be the photographer. This annual corporate charity event has already booked me for my third year. Because I can be relied on. Because I get the shots. Because I deliver.
